COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNTIES
- Volunteer to help at your church
- Cleaning. Painting, re-organizing, Building, Landscape, Ground
maintenance, etc.
- Leadership Roles – become involved [ministries, readings, teaching
choir]
- Administrative Help – bulletins, mailings, AV during services
- Help organize/work projects
- Helping bring religion to shut-ins
- Help seniors fill out forms (forms - insurance, income taxes, write letters/cards, etc.)
- Meals on Wheels – deliver vital nutritional meals to shut-ins
- Volunteer to drive people without means of transportation to medical appt, grocery, bank
- Volunteer with a Scout troop as leader, scoutmaster, responsible party
- Volunteer to help build at a Habitat for Humanity site
- Volunteer at a local hospital
- Volunteer at local Food Pantry
- Offer to help dish up meals at local missions [Wheeler Mission, Salvation Army, Good News Mission [here in Indy]
- Volunteer at the Gennsaret Free Clinic [here in Indy]
- Be a BIG BROTHER or BIG SISTER in your community
- Little League, Softball, Football, Baseball, Kickball coach/trainer
- Band Dads, Band Moms, Field Trip Chaperones
- Volunteer at a Cancer or Aids Center in your community
- Volunteer at an orphanage in your community
- Volunteer for PTA leadership
- Adopt a section of highway to keep clean
- If you have a hobby or skill, volunteer to teach a class with adults, teens, children through your church, senior center, youth center, inner city centers
- Woodworking/carving/building/painting/plumbing basic repair, etc.
- Car/motorcycle repair/ “tricked out” remodeling
- Outdoor skills such as hunting, fishing, archery, gun safety
- Computers – help others learn today’s technology [senior centers, schools, church, etc.]
- Photography skills – organize a photo shoot at a local park
- Teach a second language; Spanish, etc…, Sign language
- Teach life skills – young married or unmarried teens
- Teach Sports skills [sportsmanship, fair play]
- Volunteer at local Senior Citizen Center play cards, games, just talk with lonely residents, teach computer skills, transport persons if necessary
- Volunteer at local animal shelter/humane society
- Volunteer to help clean and maintain grounds and property at nearby State Park
- Volunteer at local “Special Ed” School
- Chaperone a field trip to circus, ice show, Christmas shows, movies, shopping
